E-commerce website
E-commerce website: an online shop designed to sell, and one you know how to run
Selling online is about more than putting products on a page. You need a clear catalogue, reliable payment, well-explained delivery, compliant terms of sale, product pages that Google understands, and a tool you can run day to day. We build online shops on Shopify, on WooCommerce or custom-built, depending on your products, your volume and the way you work, for retailers and SMEs in Haguenau, Strasbourg, the Eurométropole and northern Alsace.

Signs it is time to create or rethink your online shop
- Your customers ask whether they can order online.
- You already sell through messages, by phone or on social media, and everything is handled manually.
- Your current shop gets visits but few orders.
- Baskets are often abandoned at the payment or delivery stage.
- Your products appear neither on Google nor in the Shopping tab.
- Updating prices, stock or photos takes you too much time.
What creating your online shop includes
- Choice of solution: Shopify, WooCommerce or custom-built, based on your catalogue, your budget and who will run the shop.
- Catalogue: category structure, complete product pages (photos, variants, specifications), import of existing products.
- Payment: bank card and payment methods suited to your customers, set up with your payment provider.
- Delivery and collection: zones, rates, carriers, in-store collection if you have a shop.
- Legal requirements: legal notice, terms and conditions of sale, right of withdrawal, cookies and personal data, accessibility.
- Product SEO: optimised category and product pages, structured data, a product feed for Google Merchant Center.
- Measurement: tracking of sales, average order value and where orders come from.
- Handover: training so you can manage your products, orders and content on your own.
Shopify, WooCommerce or custom-built: choosing the right foundation
There is no single best solution. The right choice depends on the number of products, the features you need, your budget over several years and who will run the shop. We present the options in our proposal, with their recurring costs.
- Shopify / A hosted platform that is quick to launch and easy to run day to day. Plan for a monthly subscription, possible transaction fees and paid apps depending on your needs.
- WooCommerce / The e-commerce extension for WordPress: very flexible, with your site and shop in one place. It requires good hosting and regular maintenance.
- Custom-built / For a specific buying journey: product configurator, B2B sales with dedicated pricing, connection to your management software. Higher initial investment, no platform limits.
What we do not promise: a sales figure, or a Google ranking by a given date. We commit to a reliable, compliant, measured shop and a clear handover.
Do you really need an online shop?
Not always. If you sell a few products or services on quotation, a showcase site with an order or booking form may be enough. An online shop takes time every week: updating products, preparing orders, answering customers. We discuss this openly during the free review.
How it works
- Free review: your products, your customers, your current sales channels.
- Proposal: recommended solution, scope, recurring costs and schedule.
- Build: catalogue, payment, delivery, legal pages, product SEO.
- Launch and handover: testing, go-live, training, follow-up of the first orders.
Our method before launch
Before opening, we test the full journey on desktop and mobile: searching for a product, adding to basket, payment in test mode, confirmation emails, delivery calculation, returns. The accounts (platform, payment, domain name, Google) are created in your name: the shop belongs to you.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an e-commerce website cost?
The budget depends on the number of products, the features, the languages, the connections to your tools and the solution chosen. Recurring costs must also be planned: platform subscription or hosting, transaction fees, apps, maintenance. The budget is set in a written proposal, after the free review. Our guide (in French) on website prices gives sourced price ranges.
Shopify or WooCommerce: which should I choose?
Shopify suits you if you want to launch quickly and run the shop simply, without dealing with the technical side. WooCommerce suits you if you already have a WordPress site or need a lot of flexibility, provided you plan for maintenance. We compare both over three years in the proposal.
Will I be able to run my shop myself?
Yes. Adding a product, changing a price, tracking an order: we train you for these tasks and give you a written guide. For larger changes, we step in according to the support plan you choose.
What are the legal requirements for selling online in France?
The main ones: legal notice, terms and conditions of sale, information on the right of withdrawal (14 days for consumers, starting from receipt for goods), and compliance with the rules on cookies and personal data. Since 28 June 2025, e-commerce services must also be accessible to people with disabilities, except for microenterprises (fewer than 10 employees and annual turnover or balance sheet total below €2 million). We prepare the structure; the legal validation of your terms of sale remains your responsibility or that of your adviser.
Can my products appear on Google Shopping?
Yes. With Google Merchant Center, your products can appear free of charge in several Google spaces, including the Shopping tab, Search and Google Images. We prepare the product feed and product pages so the information is complete and consistent. Paid ads can be added if you wish.
Can you take over an existing shop?
Yes. We can improve an existing shop or migrate it to another solution, keeping your products, your customers and, thanks to redirects, the search visibility you have built.
Is there funding available for an online shop?
It depends on your situation. In the Eurométropole de Strasbourg, the Beecome scheme can fund the redesign of an online shop, but not its initial creation, subject to conditions. Our guide (in French) on funding in Alsace and the Grand Est details the schemes.
Do you work with businesses in Strasbourg?
Yes. We work with businesses in Haguenau, Strasbourg, the Eurométropole and northern Alsace; meetings take place by video call or in person, in French or Turkish.
